Aldea Gallant

Millinocket – Aldea C. Gallant, 95, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at a Millinocket hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 4, 1919 in Millinocket, the daughter of William and Demerise (Vaillancourt) Willette. Aldea was a very devout Catholic, and spent much time in prayer. She will be remembered as a wonderful and kind human being, loved and adored by many. Aldea was a lifelong communicant of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish. She was a diehard Red Sox fan, and rarely missed watching a game on TV. She will be remembered as an extraordinary housekeeper, and kept one of the cleanest homes in town. In spare time, she enjoyed working puzzles, reading books, and playing games. One of her favorite activities was going grocery shopping, both for the shopping benefits and the social interaction with friends and whoever she might see. Aldea was a devoted wife to her husband Charles J. Gallant, and she missed him greatly after his death. Family was most important to her, and she loved each member of her immediate and extended family alike. In recent years, she especially loved travelling with her children. Aldea is survived by three children, Aldea “Kitty” Grover of Maxfield, Dorothy Budge and her husband Norman of Millinocket, and William Gallant of Millinocket; grandchildren, Laura Boobar and her husband Jeff, Billie-Jo Boobar and her partner Kevin, Tony Grover and his wife Barbara, Cathy Boobar and her husband David, Beth Levesque, Kenneth Boutaugh, Marc Gallant and his wife Lisa, and Kylie Chadbourne and her husband Dana; twelve great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; two sisters, Viola Pugliese of Waterbury, Connecticut, and Brindella Henry of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and her husband, Aldea was predeceased by a son in law, Phil Grover, a daughter in law, Donna Gallant, two great grandsons, Tyler and Kagen, three brothers, and four sisters. Friends are invited to visit with the family 5-8 P.M. Tuesday, March 24 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Liturgy of the Word and Communion service will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, March 25 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, with Deacon Danny Watson officiating.
