George Bratton

George A. Bratton, 68, of Atkins, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was born February 11, 1947, at home in the Atkins Bottoms to Jimmy Eules and Alice Johnson Bratton. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joe and Doyle Bratton, son, Little George Bratton, Eben and Marie Strickland, Anne Strickland. George was a beloved daddy and brother, was the oldest of 8 children and at the age of 14 he dropped out of the 9th grade to help his mother raise his brothers and sisters. He was known for his sense of humor, caring heart and was a rock for many. George retired from construction work after 20 years. In 1990 he started Pine Ridge Motors as a used car salesman. He loved spending time with his family and his cat “Lucky”. Survivors include his son, Bobby and his wife Jamie LaGrange of Atkins, daughters, Kristal Bratton, Darla and husband Daryl Thalman and Jesika Bratton, mother of his children, Brenda Bratton all of Atkins, grandchildren, Katie(Scoot), Bryan (Tobe), Makayla(Sis), Jorja (George), brothers, Don and wife Ann Bratton of Morrilton, James and wife Cindy of Atkins, Bill and wife Sharon Strickland of Booneville, sisters, Alta and husband Ray Pruitt of Hattieville, Darlene and husband Ben Hendricks of Center Ridge, Mary and husband Ronnie Chronister of Pottsville, Judy Hutson of Booneville and Vicki Strickland of Booneville, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.. A celebration of life will be Saturday, April 4th, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Cherokee Park in Morrilton, with arrangements by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. O
