Betty Wilt

Betty Ruth Wilt, 89, former longtime resident of Jefferson County, WV, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2015, in Harrisburg, PA. She was born July 2, 1925 in Shenandoah Junction, WV. She was the daughter of Robert Owen and Nora Lee (Chaney) Broyles. She was the widow of Larry C. Wilt, Charles Town, WV. She was preceded in death of a daughter, Rebecca Lee Wilt, her son-in-law, Richard L. Shireman, Jr., and her grandson, Matthew Owen Shireman of Middletown, PA., four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann (Wilt) Shireman of Middletown, PA, a son, Gary M. Wilt of Winchester, VA and a grandson, David A. Shireman of Middletown, PA, and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Charles Town Baptist Church for many years before moving to PA. She and Larry loved to volunteer at Jefferson Memorial Hospital and the Charles Town Senior Center in Charles Town, WV. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11 AM in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Kearneysville, WV. Local arrangements are being made by Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown.
