Eugene "Gene" Foster

Eugene "Gene" Foster, age 75, 116 Meadowbrook Drive, Erwin, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Elizabethton. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Avery and Essie Deaton Foster. Mr. Foster retired in 2005 from Hoover Ball after thirty-eight and one half years of employment. He was a member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church where he had served as pianist for twenty-one years. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, infant Dwight Foster and Ralph Hughes. Mr. Foster leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-two years, Gaynell Yates Foster; two sons, Allan Foster and wife, Nikki and Jordan Foster all of Erwin; one daughter, Nanette Hall of Erwin; two brothers, Arnie Foster and wife, Faye of Erwin and Gerald Foster and wife, Debbie of Flag Pond; three grandchildren, Cassie Story of Jonesborough, Chloe Foster and Abby Foster, both of Erwin; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 22, 2015, from 2:00 P. M to 4:00 P. M. at the funeral home. Reverend Roger Laws and Brother Howard Wheeler will officiate at the graveside service in Evergreen Cemetery following the visitation. Pallbearers will be Billy Allen, Kevin Thomas, Calvin Hoyle, Rickey Hoyle, Gordon Hoyle, Matt Silvers, Roy Lacy and Kevin Foster.
