Clinton Wade Jansen, 93, Atchison, KS died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 11:30 am Friday, March 20th, 2015 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Chaplain Ryan Van Peursem and Rev. Brad Oyler co-officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 pm Friday in the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or Northeast Kansas Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences and memories may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com. Clinton was born Oct. 11, 1921 in Atchison, Kansas the son of George A. and Bertha I. (Davenport) Jansen. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1939. Mr. Jansen served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked as an electrician for several companies including 5 ½ years at KPL , 5 years for Midwest Solvents ,16 years for Rockwell International, and retired in 1986 after 14 years at the Youth Center of Atchison Clinton was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, a member of the American Legion Post #6, and VF W Post # 1175 both of Atchison, and had served on the Bellevue School Board. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening and yard work. He especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He was married to Betty Bradley on June 26, 1943 in Dothan, AL. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons; Ronald (Celia) Jansen, North Kansas City, MO, and Thomas Jansen, of the home, two daughters; Carol (Don) Gilkison, Independence, MO, and Donna Schowengerdt, Atchison, KS and two sisters; Betty Lou Hamm, Gladstone, MO, and JoAnn Edwards, Topeka, KS, eight grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. His parents, a brother Warren E. Jansen, and sister, Dorothy Stanley preceded him in death.
