Jonas W. Schwartz, 61, of Monroe died Monday, March 16, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital. Son of Andrew W. and Emma S. (Wengerd) Schwartz, Jonas was born on October 16, 1953. He married Katie M. Schwartz on July 24, 1975 and she is the daughter of Jacob E. and Mary N. (Miller) Schwartz. Jonas was a member of the Old Order Amish and was self-employed as a steel worker. He is survived by his wife, Katie M. Schwartz of Monroe; children, Andy JK Schwartz, Mrs. Martin (Emma K) Wickey, Mrs. Henry (Rosa K.) Wickey, Elizabeth K. Schwartz, Mrs. Elmer (Edith K.) Wickey, Nathaniel J. Schwartz, William J. Schwartz, Eli J. Schwartz and Ann K. Schwartz all of Monroe, Jonas W. Schwartz Jr and Jacob J. Schwartz both of Geneva, Mrs. Amos (Maryann K.) Lambright of Bluffton and Joseph J. Schwartz of Bryant; 28 grandchildren; five brothers and five sisters. Jonas was preceded in death by two daughters, Katie K. and Susan K. Schwartz, his parents Andrew W. and Emma S. Schwartz, a brother and a sister. Calling will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 12:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Jonas W. Schwartz residence, 1303 S. 300 W., Monroe, IN. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at the residence. Burial will be in Schwartz Cemetery, Monroe.
