Ervin Compton

Mr. Ervin E. Compton, age 66, of the Combs Ridge section of Council, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Tuesday (March 10, 2015) in an Abingdon, Virginia rehabilitation facility. Born December 29, 1948 in Council, Virginia, he was the son of the late Clarence and Gracie Dotson Compton. Ervin enjoyed working on the farm, gardening and riding four wheelers. He was a truck driver for Cleco Corporation for many years and was a dedicated father. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother Willie Compton. Survivors include his son, Brent Compton and wife, Dee of Lebanon, Virginia; fiancée, Linda Sue Meade of Drill, Virginia; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Sullivan and Rev. Ray Bostic officiating. Entombment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at Lebanon, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Greg Rasnake, Ronald Tiller, Donald Ray Harris, Brady Harris, Steve Johnson and Recus Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Compton, Randall Combs, Ronnie Tiller, Guy Tiller and Curtis Wilson. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Thursday.
