Robert C. Voigt, 77, of Atchison KS formerly of Kansas City, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at his home in Atchison. Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Thursday, March 19th, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison KS. with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. The body will be cremated following the service and burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 18th, 2015 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, 800 Kansas Ave., Atchison, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran School Endowment Fund or Trinity Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com. Robert C. Voigt was born on Dec 25, 1937 in Atchison Kansas the son of Charles Louis and Coral D. (Fortune) Voigt. He attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School, graduated from Atchison High School, received his civil engineering degree from MIT, and his master’s degree from University of Kansas. Mr. Voigt worked as a civil engineer and started his career at (HNTB) Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff then transferred to Schlup , Becker & Brennan where he was a Vice President. He retired from Burns & McDonnell, Kansas City. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Atchison and formerly of Grace Lutheran Church, Kansas City. Bob was an avid sportsman and big game hunter. He had gone on many safaris and had collected many big game animals. He was a member of Pastor Ziegler’s Adult Bible Class, and attended many Team programs and was active with the Gideon Bible program. He is survived by a son, Charles L. Voigt, II, Kansas City, KS, and a sister, Doreen Gay (Roger) Beck, Valemount British Columbia, Canada.
