Nancy Lough Obituary

Nancy Blankenship Smith Lough, 47, of Meadowbrook, passed away at the home of her mother, March 9, 2015 following a brief illness of brain cancer. She was born in Clarksburg, March 10, 1967, a daughter of Patricia Blankenship, Meadowbrook, and the late Kenneth Blankenship. Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Mark Smith, and is survived by her husband Mark Lough, Limestone Rd., Clarksburg, who is employed at J.T. Martin Fire and Safety. Also surviving are her mother’s special friend, Harold Wilhelm, Spelter, who loved Nancy like a daughter, one sister, Sandra Sidwell and her husband Mark, one nephew Kenny Sidwell and his fiancé, Kursten Hogan, all of Meadowbrook, her grandmother, Edna Butcher, Lost Creek, her mother-in-law, Helen Jeanette Lough, Clarksburg, brothers-in-law, Jack Lough, Jr., Clarksburg, John Lough and his wife Kim, West Milford, cousin, Vickie Murdock, Akron, OH, and several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her grandfather, Cleo Butcher, and grandmother, Eula Lowther. Nancy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1985. At the time of her illness she was employed by the Byard Mercer Drug Store in Clarksburg. She enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets, and shopping. Nancy could always spot a bargain. She loved her cats, Tigger, Patches, Snowball, and Mustache, and her two doves, Woody and Woodstock. She was a loving wife, daughter, and sister and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Harold Wilhelm and Kursten Hogan for their assistance with Nancy’s care. Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Thursday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday with Pastor Duane Bartrug officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Mt. Clare. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to People’s Hospice, 327 Medical Park Dr., Bridgeport, WV 26330 or Harrison County Humane Society, 2450 Saltwell Rd., Shinnston, WV 26431.
