LINDA L. SMITH (1940-2015) Linda L. Smith, age 74 of Sidney, NE passed away at her home, Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Cremation has been held. Private family inurnment will be in the Wray Cemetery in Wray CO. No local services are planned. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Linda’s care and funeral arrangements. Linda Lee (Wall) Smith, the daughter of Wilbur Bensen and Erie Vaughn (Eastin) Wall was born on Nov. 20, 1940 in Wray CO. Linda & husband William L Smith lived in Sidney since 1980. Linda was preceded in death by her husband Bill Smith and daughter Kim Jensen. Linda partnered with son Mark in the local business Smitty's Sports and Awards. Linda was the matriarch of her family, but ruled that family with love, honesty, and integrity. The one thing everyone that knew her would agree on, is that you could not be with her and not help to feel good about it. With her great sense of humor she was a joy to be around. This was a woman that put her family before herself with unwavering consistency. Francis of Assist said: "It is in giving that we receive", Linda demonstrated this everyday of her life finding joy in giving, asking nothing in return. Her family and friends will carry her in their hearts for the rest of their days. Linda, Mom & Meme is survived by her son: Mark Smith and wife Susan Smith, son in law: Ben Jensen, grandchildren: Kandace Koehler Lentz, Kristin Koehler, Destiny Smith Haggett, Kameron Walker, Ellen Reinhart. Great grand children Ian Teters, Rebecca Koehler, Alexandra Teters, Savannah Koehler, Brady Koehler, Chansen Savakinus, Colton Savikinas, Aidan Teters, Carson Savakinus, Declian Walker, Kimberly Reinhart and numerous extended family and friends.
