Vera Spencer
Vera L. Spencer, 90, of Preble, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Adams Woodcrest. Vera was born in Berne on June 25, 1924 to the late Charles A. and Mary B. (Hendricks) Affolder. On June 27, 1942 she married Hobert M. Spencer; he preceded her in death on December 21, 2012. Vera was a member of Decatur Church of Christ and formerly attended Salem U.C.C. in Magley. She was a member of the Eastern Star for over 30 years. She retired in 1989 after 18 years with Decatur Industries as a Packer/Shipping Clerk. She is survived by three sons, Roger (Charlotte) Spencer of Decatur, Robert Spencer of Preble and Rex (Jill) Spencer of Bluffton; two sisters, Rosella Cookson and Florence Teeple both of Decatur; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by 2 brothers. Out of respect to Vera’s request and wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
