TUPURKAS, Elias George -

(May 20, 1920 - March 4, 2015)

Passed away peacefully in his 95th year. Survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Fay (Petkou-Kirou). Loving father to daughters Sophie Minas, Anne Markovsky (Mico) and Mary Papamarko (Steve). Generous grandfather to Victor Minas (Janet), Millie Minas (Antonio Carlos Rodrigues), Marie Minas, Paul Markovsky (Rachael), Linda Lalani (Hussein), Sofi Papamarko and John Papamarko (fiancee Amanda). Great-grandfather to Natasha, Niccolas, Isabella, Alexander, Charlotte, Seamus, Ilyan and Sahil. Elias was born in the village of Oshchima, in northern Greece. He arrived in Canada in 1955 and soon after brought his family to the country we call home. He was very proud of his family, his accomplishments and his adopted country. He lived a long, full and happy life. He will be missed and always loved. Family and friends will be received at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, (North of Rexdale Blvd.), on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 3pm to 8pm.
