Marilyn R. McCann, age 84 of Ludington passed away on February 25, 2015 at Oakview Medical Care Facility. Marilyn was born on March 8, 1930 in Grand Haven, daughter of the late George and Minerva (Witt) VanErkel. She attended and graduated from St. James High School in 1948. On November 25, 1950 Marilyn married Robert McCann in Des Plaines, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1995. She was a laborer for FloraCraft for 23 years and retired on March 9, 1990. Marilyn was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzels and being outdoors. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Ed) Lesterson of Ludington; sons, Mike (Laura) McCann of Ludington and Kevin (Catherine) McCann of Orlando, FL; sisters, Jean Armstead of Harbor Beach and Carol (Donald) Koehn of Bad Axe; grandsons, Jason, Corey, Caley, Christopher and Sean; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and brother. Funeral services for Marilyn R. McCann will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday March 2, 2015 at Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Father Wayne Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions in Marilyn’s name may be directed to St. Simon’s Food Pantry.
