Lavada Dugay

Lavada W. Dugay died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 peacefully at her home. She was born October 27, 1916 in Smyrna Mills, Maine to Murray and Maude Waye. Her grandmother registered her birth in Merrill, ME under the name of Cora Waye. Lavada enjoyed many types of work including; manufacturing air plane engines at Pratt and Witney during the war. She also worked line work at Medomak Canning Company, a cook at Wilson’s Nursing Home, laundress for Wavus Camps, foster parenting, and finally retiring from the kitchen at Togus V.A. Center. She was a member of the Arlington Grange and South Somerville Baptist Church. She always had a positive attitude toward life and thanking God everyday for everything. She attributes her longevity to the grace of God and chocolate! Her passion was doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands: Clayton Bradeen, Wesley Nichols and Claude Dugay. brothers: Lyman, Preston and Lawrence Waye. sisters: Margaret Waye and Evelyn Ireland Survived by: sister: Olive Knight sons: Harold Bradeen and his wife Ida-leigh Ethan Bradeen and his wife Barbara daughters: Barbara Taylor and her husband Herbert Patricia Cunningham and her husband Carroll Lavada leaves behind four generations of loved ones. A great great grandson was born on her day of death. Visiting hours will be held 1:00 - 3:00 pm Sunday March 1, 2015 at Hall’s of Waldoboro with a funeral service to follow. Burial will be announced in the Spring. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the South Somerville Baptist Church (SSBC) memo line: Building Fund located at 15 Hewett Rd, Somerville, ME 04348.
