Rosa McNalley Obituary

Rosa Verona McNalley, age 86, 604 Washington Street, Erwin, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Gallipoli, Italy and had lived in Unicoi County since 1946. Mrs. McNalley was a daughter of the late Antonio and Cosima Scigliuzzo Verona. She was a homemaker and a member of the Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. McNalley was a member of the Clinchfield Senior Citizens and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Stallard McNalley in 2006; three brothers: Sebastino, Francesso and Victoria Verona; and one sister, Nucci Tricarico. Mrs. McNalley leaves behind to cherish her memory, two sons: Toney McNalley and wife, Marsha of Johnson City; and Steve McNalley of Erwin; five daughters: Christine McNalley of Erwin; Sue Sparks and husband, Joe of Gray; Mary Jane Willis and husband, Henry of Unicoi; Teresa McNalley; Linda Harris and husband Kenny, all of Erwin; one brother, Cosimino Verona; two sisters: Christina Verona and Italia Trianni, all of Gallipoli, Italy; ten grandchildren: Michael McNalley, Chad Sparks, Cindy Blevins, Nathan McNalley, Joshua McNalley, Aaron Wallace, Ashley Wallace, Jennifer Wilson, Issac Harris and Teah Sifferd; several great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Rafaella Carrozza. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service at 2:00 P. M. from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Noah Taylor will officiate. Music will be provided by Chris Wilson, Daniel Daughtry and Maria Daughtry. Pallbearers will be Michael McNalley, Chad Sparks, Nathan McNalley, Josh McNalley, Issac Harris, Brian Potter, Andy Sifferd and Chris Wilson. Committal service will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
