Anna McCloskey

Anna B. McCloskey of Snow Shoe died February 17, 2015 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA. Born February 21, 1929, at Pine Glen, PA, she was the daughter and 10th child of Clyde & Bernice Mulhollan Viehdorfer. On March 6, 1948, she married Jesse E. McCloskey of Clarence, who passed away July 18, 2002, after 54 years of marriage. She was a 1947 graduate of Snow Shoe High School. Anna was a bus driver for the Bald Eagle Area schools and retired after 32 years of service. She also worked at the BEA cafeteria and at Penn Tran Corp. at Wingate. Anna was a member of both the Snow Shoe and Clarence soft ball leagues for many years. She bowled for the Mt. Top league in the 1960’s and 1970’s and more recently for the Seniors Monday Mixed league at the Bellefonte Lanes. She was a member of the Snow Shoe Methodist Church. Anna enjoyed sports and especially Penn State and Steelers football. She also enjoyed many years of traveling with her husband all over the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Anna is survived by two daughters, Diann E. Tressler and husband Gerald of Hummelstown, and Patsy Y. Bressler and husband Thomas of St. Marys, and one son Dean E. McCloskey and wife Pamela of Milesburg; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Lee, Calvin, Max, Norman, Hugh, Stanley and Loren; and five sisters, Vera Myers, Edna Mitchell, Alta Albert, Alma and Inez Viehdorfer. Viewing will be at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St, Snow Shoe on Saturday, February 21, from noon to 3pm. Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family requests no flowers. Contributions may be made in her name to The Snow Shoe United Methodist Church, 501 Moshannon Ave., Snow Shoe PA, 16874 or to the Moshannon Valley Medical Center, 402 E. Sycamore Rd., Snow Shoe, PA 16874. Arrangements have been entrusted to Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St. Snow Shoe.
