Mrs. Laverne Martin, age 81, a resident of Morton, MS passed away on Monday February 16, 2015 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, MS. Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 18, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Thursday February 19, 2015 from 9:00 AM until 1:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday February 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Burial will follow in the Springfield Baptist Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Earl Clark and Bro. Joey Smith. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Martin was a lifelong resident of Morton, MS and she was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. She loved to fish, cook, read, gardening and spending time with her family. Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Martin in 1996; one son, Mike Martin. She is survived by one son, Lee Martin and wife Rusti of Morton, MS; daughter-in-law, Sandra Martin of Morton, MS; one sister Peggy Cochran of Madison, MS; two grandchildren, Christina Bradshaw and husband Jason, Kevin Martin and wife Aeriel; one great granddaughter, Rachel Smith. Pallbearers are Larry Phillips, Andre Hollis, Scott Myrick, Brett Stevens, John Powell, Cade Anglin.
