Troy Bailey

Troy Bailey, age 74, 148 Morris Road, Erwin, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bailey was a native and lifelong resident of Erwin. He was a son of the late Bernie and Rachael Williams Bailey. Mr. Bailey retired from CSX Transportation following twenty-five years of employment. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Bailey didn't know a stranger. He enjoyed woodworking and was a lover of animals. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy Ann Bailey; a son, Jerry Lee Bailey, and three brothers: Russell, David and Mark Bailey. He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Pearl Bailey; four sons: Troy Mike Bailey and wife, Donna, Unicoi, Michael Wayne Bailey, Daniel Lee Bailey and wife, Donna and Oliver Bailey, all of Erwin; two sisters: Pauline Ault and husband, Paul and Bernice Binkley, all of Erwin; two brothers: Roger Bailey, Frankie Bailey and wife, Connie, all of Erwin; one granddaughter, Nicole Bailey, Unicoi. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Friday, February 13, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until the hour of service from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service for Mr. Bailey will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Reverend Roger Laws officiating. Interment for Mr. Bailey will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 12:30 P.M. from the Evergreen Cemetery. Those planning to attend are requested to meet at the funeral home by 12:00 P.M. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
