DALE E. BUHRDORF Dale E. Buhrdorf, age 72 of Scottsbluff, NE and former Potter area resident passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. Funeral services celebrating Dale’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, February 13th in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Potter with Pastor Ted Bourret officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul’s Cemetery. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1-7:00 P.M. with family present from 5-7:00. Memorial contributions may be made in Dale’s name to the Bethesda Lutheran Communities, 700 Hoffman Drive, Watertown, WI 53094 or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Potter. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Dale’s care and funeral arrangements. Dale Edward Buhrdorf, the son of Elmer Henry and Helen Sophia (Baack) Buhrdorf of Potter, was born on August 1, 1942 at Sidney. He was the eighth of nine children and grew up on the family farm north of Potter. On August 23, 1942, Dale was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Potter and remained a member throughout his life. In 1956 Dale moved to the Bethesda Lutheran Home and School in Watertown, WI. There he spent the next fifty-seven years before moving back to Nebraska in November of 2013 and made the Golden Living Center his home. Dale was always ready with a smile, to fold his hands and say “Amen” when talking about Jesus and his love for Him. Survivors include his brothers: Wayne Buhrdorf of Potter and Keith Buhrdorf and wife Sherry of Delta, CO; his sisters: Darlene Benish and husband Donald of Potter, Norma Johnson of Sidney and Joan Worthman of Scottsbluff; brother-in-law: Herb Meisner of Mesa, AZ; sister-in-law: Audrey Buhrdorf of Sidney and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Dale was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Helen, his brother: Robert Buhrdorf, his sisters: Maxine Buhrdorf and Shirley Meisner and brothers-in-law: Wendell Johnson and Russel Worthman. Dale will be missed by all who knew him. His smile and hugs were there for everyone. Dale was truly a blessing to his family and friends and is now in his heavenly home.
