Eston Cooper, age 78 of Erwin passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in the Erwin Health Care Center. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Bernie and Viola Miller Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a U. S. Army Veteran. He retired in 1999 from Summers-Taylor, Inc. where he had been employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator. Mr. Cooper was of the Baptist faith. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Cooper and Steve Cooper. Mr. Cooper leaves behind, his wife of 56 years, Janice F. Cooper; two sons, Ricky Eston Cooper and wife, Ginger, and Andrew Cooper all of Erwin; one brother, Mack Cooper, Erwin; two sisters, Pearl Fisher and husband, Bill of Millersville, MD and Dollie Springer and husband, Bill of Walisa, Alaska; three half-brothers, Dean Cooper, Clinton Cooper and Chris Cooper all of Erwin; four half-sisters, Glenda Cooper, Bunny Cooper, Phyllis Wheatly, all of Greeneville and Starla Cooper of Erwin; two grandsons, Judson and Brandon; six granddaughters, Cindy, Thelma, Katrina, Crystal, Paige and Ashlee; eight great grandsons; Heath, Drake, Bryson, Aiden, Dalton, Taylor, Zane and Brennon; several nieces and nephews also survive. The Cooper family will receive friends Friday, February 6, 2015, from 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Todd McLaughlin officiating at the 7:00 P. M. service. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler, organist. Pallbearers will be John Smith, Mason Edmonds, Brandon Cooper, Buck Sprouse, Joel McLaughlin and Tracy McLaughlin. The family, minister, pallbearers and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 P. M. Saturday to go in procession to the White-Haun Cemetery for the 1:00 P. M. committal service.
