Marie Mosher Obituary

It is with sadness the family of Marie Pearl Mosher, 83, of Lunenburg and formerly of Lower Rose Bay announces her passing on Monday February 1, 2015 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Fauxburg, she was a daughter of the late Maurice and Kathleen (Knickle) DeMone. Marie was a member of Trinity United Church, Rose Bay. Marie began her working career at the age of sixteen in Stedman’s Store; Lunenburg then went on to work for Riverport Sea Foods followed by Glady’s Canteen in Kingsburg. Marie finished her working life after retiring from the Bank of Montreal in Riverport after thirteen years of service. Marie was very active within her community. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in the Riverport Fire Department, long serving member of the Woodbine Rebekahs, Lodge # 53, Upper LaHave, for sixty years as well as a member of the Trinity United Church U.C.W., and the church choir. In her spare time she enjoyed rug hooking and knitting and even put her hand to sewing. She is survived by her brother Ivan (Gloria Jean) DeMone, Fauxburg and loving nieces Patricia (Michael) Falt, Big Lots and Irene (Graham) Crouse, Hammond’s Plains. Marie will be especially missed by her grand-nephews Nicholas, Matthew Falt and Nathan Crouse. Marie was predeceased by her husband of over fifty years, Bruce Mosher. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg and from where visitation will be held on Thursday February 5th from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service for Marie will be held on February 6th in Trinity United Church, Rose Bay at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Ron Frampton officiating. Interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Lower Kingsburg. Thank you to all the staff in Halifax at the Victoria General Hospital for all the care shown to Marie over the last few years. A special thank you to Dr. Pugh, all the nursing staff at South Shore Regional Hospital and the home care workers for all their compassionate care shown to Marie during her illness. Flowers appreciated, however donations to the Riverport Fire Department, Riverport or Trinity United Church, Rose Bay would be appreciated by the family. God saw her getting tired, when a cure was not to be. So He put his arms around her and whispered “Come with Me.” With tearful eyes we watched her suffer and saw her fade away, although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay.A golden heart stopped beating. Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us. He always takes the best!
