Frank Spisz

Frank A. Spisz, age 83 of Manistee passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2015 at Manistee County Medical Care Facility. He was born on June 10, 1931 in Detroit the son of the late Frank and Sophia (Machlik) Spisz. He attended St. Alphonsus High School and graduated with the class of 1949. He then joined the Naval Reserve. On February 17, 1979 Frank married Sally A. Merritt at Farmington Unitarian Church in Farmington. He worked as a draftsman in the design center for Ford Motor Company for over 25 years. He enjoyed his family, golfing, traveling, watching college and professional sports, refinishing furniture, automobiles and spending time with World War II veterans. Frank had a great sense of humor! Frank is survived by his wife, Sally Spisz; daughter, Jennifer (Nick) Pavlich of Plymouth, Susan Spisz-Allen of Phoenix, Arizona; step-daughter, Julie Beardslee (Reggie Asplet) of Manistee; step-son, Jay (Barbara) Beardslee of Punta Gorda, FL; 10 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Sister Joanne Spisz, OP, Dorothy Spisz, Sylvia Cyplik, and Sophia Spisz. Cremation will take place and the Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23 2015 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Dearborn with Reverend David Lesniak, celebrant. Memorial contributions in memory of Frank may be directed to the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 13540 Gould St. Dearborn, MI 48126.
