Jackie Garrison

Jackie Garrison, 75, of Hector, passed away Friday, January 23, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born January 14, 1940, in Russellville. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, and was the last charter member of the Hector Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sandra; grandparents, Homer and Belle Langford who raised him; son-in-law, Jerry Moore; and lifelong best friend, John Garrigus. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan Brown Garrison; 3 daughters, Susan Moore, Sherry Melton and Shelly Jack; 4 grandsons, Randy Melton (Amber), Andy Melton (Ashley), Jeremy Moore, and Patric Jack; 2 granddaughters, Katelyn Jack and Terah Jack; 4 great-grandchildren, Gabe Melton, Keegan Melton, Adeline Melton and Greyson Melton; 2 sisters-in-law, Jane Jones (Dorsey), and Jean Keene (Randy); and 2 cousins, Katherine Price and Terry Langford. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Hector Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Charles King and Rev. Terry Latham officiating. Burial is in Campground Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday. Pallbearers are Randy Melton, Andy Melton, Jeremy Moore, Patric Jack, Keith Melton and Josh Garrigus. Honorary pallbearers are David Garrigus, Paul Garrigus, Nelson Langford, and Terry Langford. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to the Hector Free Will Baptist Church, or to the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home, 2405 East Parkway, Suite 3, Russellville, Arkansas 72802.
