Jane Elizabeth Sonntag, age 87 of Ludington passed away on January 22, 2015 at Tendercare of Ludington. Jane was born on March 17, 1927 in Mt. Clemens, the daughter of the late Ernest P. and Clara (Miles) Bodi. Jane married James Walter Kries who preceded her in death in 1970. On December 4, 1971 in Saginaw she married Ezra Harry Sonntag who preceded her in death on August 18, 2010. She was employed at an assistant manager and bank teller at the 1st Federal Bank of Fenton. Jane was a past member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Flushing. Jane enjoyed bowling, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Jane is survived by her sons, David (Carolyn) Krieg of White Lake, James (Mary Elaine) Krieg, Steven Krieg both of Ludington; grandchildren, Brenda Bigelow of Corunna, Cheryl Weathers of Nampa, ID, Abby Riske of Grand Rapids, Daniel Krieg of Ludington, and Kelly Lowrey of Camp Lejeune, NC; great grandchildren, Amanda Weathers, Jessica Weathers, Nathan Bigelow, Justin Bigelow, Caleb Weathers, Mia Riske, and Sydney Riske; and great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Adrienne Krieg; and brother, Floyd Bodi. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Jane E. Sonntag will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday January 25, 2015 at Oak Grove Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Ludington with Pastor Joe Hilyard officiating. The family will receive guests for visitation from 12:00 until the time of service. Memorial contributions in Jane’s name may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
