SCHMIDT, Rick - Passed away suddenly as the result of an accident on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the age of 56. Loving Father of Jeremy Bertand of Toronto, Brett Schmidt and Brooke Schmidt both of Barrie. Cherished son of Cecile Piercey (nee Larose) and the late Florent Schmidt. Dear brother of Penny Ford (Jamie), the late Brenda Kranz and the late Ronald Schmidt. Nephew of Roseanne DeGrechie (Bill) and Simone Handspicker (Bob). Special uncle to the late Quincy Kranz, Tammy-Lee Brannan (Jimmy), Brandon Ford and Travis Ford. Special cousin and close friend to Derrick DeGrechie. Rick will be sadly missed by many police officers, cousins and friends.
