Peter Smith
It is with great sadness that the Smith Family announces the passing of their beloved husband and father on January 16th, 2015. Born September 26th, 1930 in Otley, England to Andrew and Anice Smith; Peter moved to Edinburgh as a young child attending and graduating from Leith Academy. Joining the Merchant Marine Peter traveled the world apprenticing as a mechanical engineer. Returning to Scotland he continued this trade during his service in the RAF. Peter met and married Norma in 1956 moving to Canada in 1961 where he started his lifelong career in the Packaging Industry. He always enjoyed his sports soccer (Hearts) and hockey (Leafs) but especially his golf which took him on many adventures with his friends from Brampton and Mississaugua Golf Clubs. Peter’s laugh could always be heard at his favorite pub, the Coach… Peter is survived by his wife Norma; children Yvonne (Larry), Russell (Linda), and Peter (Gina); grandchildren Simon, Sean, Andrew, Bradley and Nicole; Sister Hazel and Niece Claire. A gathering of friends will take place at the SKINNER & MIDDLEBROOK FUNERAL HOME, 128 Lakeshore Road E. Mississauga, on Wednesday from 6-8pm and Thursday from 2-4pm. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society would be appreciated in honour of his beloved Wallace.
