Charles H. “Chuck Poticher, Sr., 94, of Harrisburg, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015, in the Harrisburg Hospital. Born in Harrisburg on May 20, 1920, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Bessie M. Bryson Poticher. Chuck retired from the former Evangelical Press/Harrisburg Packaging Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II in the North African and Italy Theatres. Chuck was of the Protestant faith. A humble man of simple needs, Chuck’s family was most important to him. Chuck is survived by his wife of 69 years, Emma Dorothy Warden Poticher whom he married on August 11, 1945; two sons, Charles H. Poticher, Jr. and John E. Poticher both of Harrisburg; four granddaughters, Molly E. Poticher, Julie E. Granito, Katie L. Swartz, and Krissy L. Laverty; and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015, in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Nicholas E. Keeney, pastor of Chambers Hill United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Chambers Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family Thursday from 10:30 AM until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to the Visiting Nurse Association of Central PA, 3315 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111-1811.
