Wallace Nunnelly Obituary

Wallace "Sonny" Nunnelly, 83, of Atkins, went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 15, 2015, at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was a union pipe fitter and a superintendent at Hutchison-Hayes, Offshore Systems and CB Southern of Channelview, Texas and completed work for a number of other companies throughout his career. He was a member of the Arkansas Square Dancers, Rebel Reelers, and Hopewell Baptist Church. He enjoyed special activities such as square dancing, playing pegs and jokers, baking, watching western movies, and spending time with family. He loved church and worshiping the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Napolean and Fannie Mae Nunnelly; two wives, Patsy and Billie Jean; a brother, Pete; and two sisters, Gladys and Lois Hill. He is survived by three sons, Don and wife Danette, Billy and wife Barbara, and James David; daughter, Elizabeth "Lisa" and husband Kenny Childers; five grandchildren, Wesley of Cleveland, Texas, Billy Bob, Allen, and Cole, all of Atkins, and Kindell Hartwick of Greenbrier; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friend, Evelyn Pratt of Conway; and his Christian friend, Sylvia May of Atkins. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 20, at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Bird and Rev. Tony Sparks officiating. Burial is in Oakland Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, at Lemley Chapel. Pallbearers are Billy Bob, Allen, and Cole Nunnelly, and Donald Moss.
