Bobby Duty Obituary

Mr. Bobby Clifford Duty, age 82, of Bee, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (January 13, 2015) at Hummingbird Retirement Villa in Lebanon, Virginia. Born April 2, 1932 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Robert Lundy and Ethel Rose Duty. A lifelong resident of Bee, Virginia, he was a coal miner for over thirty-six years, retiring from Clinchfield Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Musick Duty, two sons, Dallas Duty and Darrell Duty, two daughters, Wanda Thompson and Darlene Thomas, seven brothers, Ed, Banner, Tom, Mason, Ernest, Gene and Bill Duty, and three sisters, Allene Hale, Eura Owens, Delphia Duty. Survivors include one son, Kenneth Duty of the home; half-brothers, Richard Duty, Randall Duty, and Rodney Duty; half-sister, Norma Gillam; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Denver Barton officiating. Interment will follow in the Duty Cemetery at Bee, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Austin Barton, Donovan Barton, Daniel Barton, Jack Barton, Dawyer Musick, and Glenn Musick.
