Hudson Falls/Argyle Donald Lee Cross, 88, passed away at his home on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015. Born on July 19, 1926 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Theodore and Irene (Patten) Cross. Don served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He owned and operated his own excavating business in Argyle for many years. He was part owner and involved in bringing the airport to Argyle and a member of the flying farmers. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Rita (Battease) Cross, son-in-law Peter Seebald, and sister Betty Cross Aubrey. Left to cherish his memories include his children Ronald Cross, Susan Seebald, Peter (Cindy) Cross, Nancy Cross, Dana (Gianna) Cross, Barbara Cross-Chapman; his siblings Marilyn (Red) Durkee, Theodore Cross, Shirley Cross Bahr, his grandchildren; Jason Cross (Jennifer), David Cross (Olivia), Donald Seebald(Marie), Kevin Seebald, Natalie Cross (Desmond Norris), Lynsey Cross, Nathaniel Cross, Meaganne McCandess (Garrick Duckler), Amber Stoddard (Matt), Ryan Brown, Tanner Cross, Aaron Cross, Dayton Cross, Karime Gazdik, Ashleigh Chapman, Morgan Chapman, and Mason Chapman, his great grandchildren; Ryan and Logan Cross, Athena, Freya and Eugene Seebald, Linnaeus Duckler, Emma, Ava, and Sophie Stoddard, Ryan and Roman Cross, Stella Reynolds, and Noah Yell, as well as many nieces, nephews, and loyal friends. A celebration of Don’s life will be held from 1 to 4pm on Sunday January 18, 2015 at the Hudson Falls American Legion post 574, 72 Pearl Street Hudson Falls 12839.
