Stanley Hooper

Stanley E. Hooper, 60, passed away at his home in Waldoboro on Sunday January 4, 2015 in Machias, ME. Stanley grew up in Machias and attended local schools graduating from Machias High School and the from the University of Maine at Machias. After completing college he went on to work in law enforcement for 20 years before retiring in 2003. Stanley loved sports and everything to do with Boston. He loved the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and Bruins and was always invested in his teams. In fact he was so invested that after having heart surgery the doctors would only let him watch the games if they were able to give him something to keep him calm. Stanley loved spending time with his wife and family, he loved intelligent conversations, and playing the guitar. There was nothing more that he loved than picking up his guitar and playing a song for his family. He was predeceased by a brother Gary Hooper, son James Michael Hooper, and mother-in-law Jimmie Lou Cutwright Survivors include his wife of 40 years Lynda Hooper of Waldoboro, ME Son William Hooper of Rio Dosa, New Mexico Daughters Jessica Hooper and her fiancé Kevin Rahkonen of Spruce Head, ME Lindsay Carlson and her husband Christopher of Orland, ME 11 loving grandchildren Brother Darren Hooper of Florida Parents Stanley and Joyce Hooper of Florida A military funeral will be held at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.
