Peter Sturrock

Peter Andrew Sturrock, 70, of Storrs, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1st at his home with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Betsy; his cherished daughter Sarah Fleming and her husband Ryan of Brooklyn, New York; his sister Jean Bruce of Hartford; his brother Ian Sturrock and his wife Mary of Philadelphia, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was born February 8, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Andrew John Thomas Sturrock and the late Janet Black Sturrock. He attended Trinity College in Hartford and taught for ten years in the Coventry School System before going into financial services, where he went on to become a partner at Constitution Advisory Group in East Hartford. He was a member of many organizations and charities and a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Coventry. Peter's love of life and for his family and many close friends was inspiring to all who met him. He was warm and kind, a devoted husband and father, and will be missed dearly by so many people. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 1 PM at the First Congregational Church of Coventry at 1171 Main Street in Coventry, followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Ocular Melanoma Foundation, 1717 K St. NW Suite 900, Washington, DC 20006 or to the, First Congregational Church of Coventry Memorial Fund, PO Box 355 Coventry, CT 06238.
