Stella Semeniuk March 18, 1932 - December 25, 2014 Our loving mom and grandmother passed away December 25, 2014 at the Watrous District Health Complex. She leaves behind two sons; John and Joe, both of Watrous; two grandchildren, Ashley of Watrous and Allison (Chris) of Saskatoon; sisters Olga Stepa, Brandon, MB and Verna, Regina SK; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Nick, brother Eugene Mudry; brothers-in-law, John Stepa and Mike Cherkewich; sister-in-law, Lena Holowenk. She was born south of Venn, SK where she attended Geneseo and then Venn schools. As a girl, mom belonged to C.G.I.T. In 1940 the family moved to the outskirts of Venn. Stella met Nick, the love of her life, and was married in 1951. They lived in Nokomis for two years. John was born in 1952. In 1953 they moved to Venn and lived for nine years. Joe was born in 1954. While living in Venn, she was leader of the Venn 4H Homecraft club and member of the Venn homemakers club. She loved to entertain at Christmas time with relatives and friends. She was a member of the Wolverine Ukrainian Catholic Church and St. Ann's Church in Watrous. Mom moved to farm between Venn and Watrous and then built a house in Watrous in 1970. Mom's passion was quilting, she would take the quilts for competition to Melville. She won a few ribbons. She belonged to the Watrous Craft and Hobby club also. She loved her grandchildren, gardening at the farm and reading and trying new recipes. She would enter her recipes in newspapers and magazines. She had a winning recipe in the Ford New Holland Magazine. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held in St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday January 2nd at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Watrous Cemetery.
