Winston Guy Erwin, age 73, 204 Luttrell Street, Erwin passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Guy C. and Mae Clouse Erwin. Winston was an active member of Shallow Ford Baptist Church where he served with love and dedication on several committees which included past treasurer. He was also a deacon for many years and teacher of the Men's Sunday School Class. Winston was a building contractor and the owner of Erwin Construction for 25 years. Later, he became a State Certified Residential Appraiser and Affiliate Real Estate Broker for several years with Hampton Realty Company. Winston was a true outdoorsman and he loved hunting, fishing, boating and hiking but most of all he loved to study the Bible. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Erwin. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-four years, Eva Marie Simmons Erwin; one son, Tim Erwin and wife, Penny, Unicoi; one daughter, Amy True and husband, David, Erwin; one sister, Myrtle Morgan and husband, Guy, Greeneville; four granddaughters: Tiffany Erwin, Tilly Erwin, Whitley True and Abbey True all of Erwin; one nephew, Tony Spears and wife, Melanie, Unicoi; several uncles, aunts and cousins also survive. Funeral service for Winston Guy Erwin will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Mike Tyson and Reverend Zach Smith will officiate. Music will be provided by Jamie Tipton and Inez Chandler. Active Pallbearers will be deacons of Shallow Ford Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Shallow Ford Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. Monday, December 22, 2014 until time of funeral service from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. A private family committal service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the McInturff Cemetery, Erwin.
