Paul William “Bill” Skinner, 80, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Shinnston, passed away at 1:27am, Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born in Shinnston, August 15, 1934, a son of the late Harry Clifford and Rosetta Richards Skinner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Stark Skinner, on August 23, 2013. Surviving is his only child, Paul Douglas Skinner and his wife, Chelly of Lexington, KY. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Tiffany Christopher and her husband Derek of Georgetown, Myranda Skinner of Lexington. KY. His four surviving great-grandchildren, Gregory True of Lexington, Payton True of Lexington, Douglas Christopher and Eli Christopher, Georgetown, KY. Surviving are three sisters, Barbara Millis and her husband Fred, Greenfield Center, NY, Kathryn Millington and her husband Tommy, Corinth, NY, Ruth Frazier and her husband Chris, GA. His surviving sisters-in-law are Donna Skinner, Corinth, NY, Vivian Stark, Haywood, Mary Layfield, Clarksburg, Nina Ashcraft, Shinnston, and his brother-in-law, Don Stark and his wife Brenda, Prospect Valley, and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lacy “Ted” Skinner and Harry Clifford Skinner, sister, Mary Ferrill and her husband Bill, and brothers-in-law, Earl Junior Stark, Ray Stark, Clifford Layfield and Wayne Ashcraft. Bill worked as an electrician at Robinson Run Mine for many years. He was a veteran having served with the United States Army after high school. He enjoyed going to McDonald’s in Shinnston every morning, camping, telling Army and coalmine stories, and cars. Bill spent his final days watching football on his big screen TV. He always looked forward to visits from his best friends, Eddie and Marie Cutwright of Salem, WV. He was very proud of his family and their accomplishments. He was a very good provider for his parents, siblings, his wife and son. He was a generous man who was loved and adored by many. He will be sadly missed. Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 4-8pm, Tuesday where funeral services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, December 17 with Rev. Tom Brown officiating.
