<p>KATANIK George - </p><p>George passed away peacefully at Dorothy Ley Hospice with his family by his side on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Anne (Maruschak) for 63 years. Loving father of Kimberley Katanik-Kuris (Derek Laney), Stephen (Lorry) and Bradley (Lindsay Arend). Cherished grandfather of Stephanie and Justin Kuris, Elizabeth and Lauren Katanik and Katherine Katanik. Predeceased by his parents George Sr. and Anna. He is survived by his brother John (Marie) and his sister May Darmetko (Henry). He will be fondly remembered by Richard Kuris and Jennifer DeWolde. George had a very long career as the proprietor of Lonsdale Garage on Dupont Street in Toronto. He was also very active in his church for many years. His passion for photography has left his family and friends with decades of precious memories. His family would like to thank everyone at Dorothy Ley Hospice in Etobicoke for their wonderful care and support. Resting at the NEWEDIUK FUENRAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, (North of Rexdale Blvd.), on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Panachida at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass to be celebrated from the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God, 257 Shaw Street on Wednesday December 17, 2014 at 10:00am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. If desired, donations made in memory of George to the Dorothy Ley Hospice or the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God would be appreciated by the family.
