<p>Ruth Turner Abney, age 92, widow of the late Charlie Ely Abney went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at her home in Berea.</p><p>Ruth was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Red Lick Holiness Church. She was a retired bus driver from the Madison County Schools, owned and operated Red Lick Grocery and was Post Master of Duluth Post Office.</p><p>Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Bessie Turner, her husband Charlie, and son Sonny Leonard Abney and 6 brothers and 3 sisters.</p><p>She is survived by her son Frank (Ruby) Abney, daughters Gwen Abney (Jerry) Jones, Jenny Abney (Lee) Pendleton and daughter in law Joan Powell Abney. Grandchildren: Randy Abney, Steve (Kim) Abney, Katherine (Mike) Fearing, Pati (Eddie) Goode, Lynne (David) Short, Karen (John) Galloway, Kimberlee (Dewayne) Turner, Debby (Shawn) Robertson, 21 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. One sister Dolly Turner Stewart also survives her.</p><p>Visitation will be Monday December 15, 2014 from 5-9 pm at Lakes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Lakes Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Lamb officiating.</p><p>Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons in law. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters and granddaughter in law.</p><p>The family would like to extend a special thanks to her nephew Earmon Turner, Jr. for his kindness.</p><p>www.lakesfuneralhome.com</p>
