Obituary
James Leonard Foster, age 85, of Erwin, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Robert and Zula Farnor Foster. Mr. Foster retired from Sammons Communications after thirty-six years of service. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Foster, Allen Foster and Calvin Foster; and one sister, Audrey Renfro. Mr. Foster leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons, Gaylon Foster of Erwin and Jeff Foster and wife, Connie, of Elizabethton; his longtime companion, Carolyn Allen, of Erwin; four brothers, Raymond Foster and wife, Frances, Denlis Foster and wife, Leyland, and Mike Foster, all of Erwin, Earnest Foster and wife, Margaret, of Johnson City; one sister, Betty Pate and husband, Tommy John, of Erwin; one granddaughter, Mallory Tilson and husband, Jesse, of Erwin; one great grandson, AvinTilson of Erwin; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Monday, December 15, 2014, from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bill Ponder will officiate at the 8:00 P. M. funeral service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Committal service will be held at 2:30 P. M.,Tuesday, December 16, 2014, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the Kingsport V.F.W Post #4933. Family and friends attending the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 2:20 P. M. Tuesday.
