Ethel Windle

Ethel Marie Windle, 84, of Winchester, died Tuesday, December 10, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Windle was born January 24, 1930 in Leesburg, Virginia, the daughter of Elwood Charles Emmons and Georgie Willey Richardson. She was co-owner of the Red Star Restaurant. She married James O. Windle on July 5, 1949 in Hagerstown, Maryland. Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Joan Anderson and her husband, Andy of Winchester, Virginia; three grandchildren, Rachelle Stump and her husband, Skip of Winchester, Virginia, Andy Anderson and his wife, Tasha of South Hadley, MA, and Matt Anderson and his wife, Holland of Nashville , TN; four great grandchildren, Jaden Stump, Mason Stump, Quincy Anderson and Emmylou Anderson; a brother, Elmer Emmons of Winchester and four sisters, Margaret Miller, Kathy Stinson, Christine Whitacre, and Ida Landis, all of Winchester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Emmons and Robert Emmons; and three sisters, Mary Emmons, Ruth Dicks, and Sedonia Emmons. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Stinson, Andy Anderson, Adrian Anderson, Matt Anderson, Skip Stump, and Elmer Emmons. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice 333 W. Cork St. Winchester, VA 22601.
