Sister Mary Goulet

Sister Mary Goulet (Sister Mary Robert) A Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON, died in Pembroke on the 8th day of December, 2014 in the 62nd year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her Religious Community, her sisters - Sister Ruth Goulet, GSIC, Sister Cornelia (Connie) Goulet, GSIC, and Ann Goodwin; her brothers Harry and Bill, as well as devoted nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, William K and Teresa (McElligott). Sister Mary was born in Pembroke on December 8, 1928. She entered the Community on September 8, 1953, pronouncing final vows on August 4, 1958. A teacher by profession, she served in Ottawa and Pembroke as well as principal of Our Lady's High School, Pembroke and Denis O'Connor High School, Whitby. From 1985 - 1993, she served as General Councillor for the Grey Sisters1 Community. A new ministry involved service as Pastoral Associate at St. Paul's Mission in Rae Lakes, Northwest Territories. Sister Mary's final years were lived peacefully at Shalom Residence, Pembroke. Resting at the Neville Funeral Home, 491 Isabella St., Pembroke, ON, K8A 5T8 (613) 732-7481 on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m., with prayers at 4 p.m. Funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Pembroke on Thursday, December 11th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Columba's Cemetery.
