Mabel Large

Mrs. Mabel Monk Large, age 83, of Lebanon, Virginia, passed away Friday (December 5, 2014) at her home in Lebanon, Virginia. Born June 7, 1931 in Swords Creek, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Elsie Dye Keen. She had lived most of her life in the Russell County area and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lloyd Monk. Survivors include her husband of fifteen years, William “Bill” Large of the home; one daughter Felicia Ferguson of Spring City, Virginia; one son, Michael Monk of Bristol; five grandchildren, Crystal Ferguson, Kristy Hage, Andrew Monk, Shayna Monk, and Shawn Monk; step-sons, William Large, Jr. of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Jerry Large of Fayetteville, Georgia; Thomas Large of Tennessee, and James Richard “Ricky” Large of Springfield, Virginia; two brothers, Vernie Keen of Spotsylvania, Virginia and Ernest Keen of Tazewell, Virginia; several step-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Bro. Les Ritchie officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Monday.
