Mary Brown

Mary Jane Shuttlesworth Brown, 80, of Shinnston, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:37pm, Saturday, November 22, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was born in Fairmont, September 28, 1934 a daughter of the late Thomas and Goldie Murphy Shuttlesworth. She was happily married to Pastor Tom Brown, her husband of 61 years, who survives. She was blessed with two children, Brenda White and Pastor Steve White, Hepzibah, Tom Brown and his wife Cindy, Fairmont, several grandchildren, Suzie and Brandon Fox, Missy and Josh Floquet, Brandi Brown, Brittany Brown, Brianna Brown and her companion Curt Joseph, Ben Brown, Avery Brown, Chris Jackson, Tara and Clark Rose, and Tyler and Tonja Jackson, and several great-grandchildren, Jax and Jon Fox, Brayden and Bryson Brown, Kariah and Kellen Joseph, Jaxson and Kerrigan Rose, Dru and Nolan Jackson, and a former daughter-in-law, Kathy Russell Hustead, two sisters, Shirley Lucas, Marjorie Willis and her husband Bill, three sisters-in-law, Opal Shuttlesworth, Vivian Brown, and Jean Brown, and many nieces and nephews. Mary and her husband pastored and founded the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Shinnston. Along with her husband, she loved her church and dedicated her life with her support and faithfulness. She could quote the books of the Bible forwards and backwards quickly. She loved reading her bible and working word search puzzles. She also enjoyed cooking for her family. Mary was a wonderful example to all who knew her and very loved by so many friends, family, and church family. She will be greatly missed by many. Friends may call at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, 124 Hood Ave., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Tuesday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, November 26.
