Gladys L. Holmes, 74, passed away November 21, 2014 at home surrounded by her family. Gladys was born July 31, 1940, in Atkins, to Elmer and Mary Liar Duvall. She was the founder of Breaking The Chain of Darkness Ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl Henry Holmes, 2 daughters, Maria Elizabeth Holmes and Mary Holmes-Edwards, son in law, Scott Edwards , grandson, Michael Edwards, 4 brothers, Charles Duvall, James Duvall, Lee Duvall, David Duvall, 2 sisters, Margie Erwin and Mae Ramirez. She is survived by 4 sons, Wayne Holmes and wife Linda of Gold Beach, Oregon, David Holmes and wife Kelly of Atkins, Bobby Holmes and Sherrie of Moreland, Michael Holmes and wife Aquilla of Moreland, 4 daughters, Debbie Holmes of Russellville, Lisa Stewart and husband Sonny of Plainview, Carla Fillion and husband Bobby of Hector, Amanda Sanders and husband Bobby of Plainview, 23 Grandchildren, 23 Great-Grandchildren , brothers, Ernest Duvall of Lamar, Phil Duvall of Buttermilk Community, 3 sisters, Linda Harris of Pottsville, Mary Lou Darter of Buttermilk Community, Mable Wiley of Atkins . The family will receive visitors from 6:00-800 PM, Sunday, November 23, at Lemley Funeral Home in Atkins. The Graveside Service and burial will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, November 24, at St. Joe Cemetery with Rev. C.W. Henderson officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby Sanders, Bobby Joe Fillion, Bobby Issac Fillion, Cody Blaylock, Kyle Fillion, Michael Holmes. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
