Robert S. Jones, 65, died November 20th at his home in Warren. He was born January 27, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert Virgil Jones and Jacqueline Gray Jones. He grew up in Iowa and then moved to Westport, Connecticut at the age of 12. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He married Nancy Tefft Jones in 1973. He worked as a boat builder, mechanic and chef for many years. He began making raku pottery in the early 1990’s. He opened Ridgeback Pottery in Wiscasset across from Red’s Eats, named after his Rhodesian ridgeback dog. Bob was a supreme chef who could create wonderful meals out of anything. He had a great sense of putting things together that tasted really good. He enjoyed gardening, and building a pole barn for his wife’s horses. He was a tender, loving father, who was proud of his children and grandchildren. He was compassionate, opinionated and very talented at most anything he put his mind to. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy T. Jones of Warren Daughter, Jamie Adele Le and her husband Binh of Fremont, CA Son, Eric Steven Jones and his wife Mariccela of Sterling, VA Sister, Jan McCoy of Indianapolis, IN Brother, Craig Jones of Georgia Two grandchildren, Genevieve Blanca Jones of Sterling,VA Kai Robert Le of Fremont,CA A family gathering will be held to celebrate Bob’s life.
