Margaret K. "Nannie" Taylor Obituary

Millinocket – Margaret K. “Nannie” Taylor, 103, wife of the late Earl D. Taylor, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at a Millinocket hospital with family by her side. She was born October 17, 1911 in Millinocket, the daughter of Walter W. and Josephine M. (White) Mott. Margaret was a lifelong resident of Millinocket, and was a graduate of Stearns High School, class of 1930. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and a member of the Altar Guild for over 30 years. For many years, Margaret was a ward clerk at Millinocket Community Hospital. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, and especially spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Sweet Seniors for the love and care given to Margaret. Margaret is survived by three children, Elizabeth Steeves of Millinocket, Catherine Spruce of Dover-Foxcroft, and Walter B. Taylor and his wife Beth of Enfield, New Hampshire; seven grandchildren, Jody McKusick and her husband Paul, Brenda Fanjoy and her husband Mike, Jay Spruce, Jennifer Gross and her husband Donnie, Julie Bowen, Tracy Thompson and her husband Keith, and Marcy Nelson and her husband John; fifteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her extended family, Denise Page, Diane Garvin, Dana Burleigh and their families. In addition to her husband, Margaret was predeceased by two sisters, Nina Lyons and Lucretia Bradley. Friends are invited to visit with the family 1-2 P.M. Sunday, November 23 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 P.M. by the Rev. Levering Sherman and Deacon Bob Landry. Spring interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in Margaret’s memory may be sent to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 40 Highland Ave., Millinocket, ME 04462.
