Robert L. Hessberger, age 68, of Milford, loving husband of Marlene (Gombrewicz) Hessberger, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Robert (Hutch) was born on August 28, 1946 in Milford to the late Kingsley (Mickey) & Lottie Mae (Bryan) Hessberger. Robert was retired from the City of Milford, Department of Public Works, where he was employed 33 years. After retirement he worked part-time for Dennis Auto Parts. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Lauri Ramos and husband Javier of Winter Springs, FL., Dawn Cole and husband Robert of Milford, Michael Hessberger and wife Courtney of Derby, Robert J. Hessberger and partner Tracy Cook of Milford. Robert is also survived by his siblings and their families, James and Judy Hessberger of Milford, Mary Camillo of Milford, William Hessberger and Virginia Hessberger both of Naugatuck as well as nine grandchildren, Javier Ramos, Alora Mooney, Cody Ramos, Victor Benson, Brandon Benson, Jiline Cole, Ryan Cole, Zachary Benson and Lilyann Hessberger. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Patricia, and brother-in-laws Robert Paige, Joe Camillo and Charles (Chick) Gombrewicz, a niece Lori DeCusati and father-in-law Charles Gombrewicz. Calling hours will be held Sunday November 23, 2014 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm (Prayer Service at 4:30pm) at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford . Interment will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association.
