Jack P. Boggess, 81, of Winchester, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Winchester Medical Center. Mr. Boggess was born on July 17, 1933 in Washington, DC; the son of Frank Price Boggess and Ann Gregg Gibson Boggess. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired as a teacher with Fairfax County Schools after 25 years of service. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post 21, the Dixie Division of American Legion and the National Teacher’s Association. He was an avid Bridge player. He married Ingeborg Schlinke on December 27, 1966 in Germany. Along with his wife, he is survived by his sons, Thomas Jackson Boggess (Vicki) of Warrenton, VA and Andrew Frank Boggess of Fairfax, VA; brothers, Joseph Richard Boggess (Peggy) of Radford, VA and Frank Leith Boggess (Jennifer Lynn) of Bluemont, VA; and three grandchildren, Luke Andrew Boggess, Preston Thomas Boggess and Alexandra Mariece Boggess. He was preceded in death by a half sister, Eva May McGowan. The family will receive friends on Saturday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Martha Miller Sims officiating. Burial will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, VA. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 26 W.
