Mary Manzo

Millinocket – Mary Elaine Manzo died November 14, 2014 in Millinocket. She was born December 2, 1929 in East Millinocket to Paul and Melvina (Fortine) Baker. Mary Elaine grew up in East Millinocket and attended the Baxter School for the Deaf in Portland. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Angelo Manzo and they celebrated 60 years of marriage. She was a wonderful home maker who enjoyed spoiling her family with her delicious cooking and she loved her large extended family - they were her life. Mary Elaine was a fiercely independent woman whose motto was “Don’t tell me what to do!” Mary Elaine is survived by her children, Gary Manzo and Alice Kelley, Jan Moore and her husband, Jim, Gail Manzo, and Tammy Bishop; beloved grandchildren, Vanessa and Bryan Duprey, Samantha and Christopher Doe, Adam Manzo and Heather Marden, and Bethany Manzo; brothers Paul Baker, Frank and Carol Baker, sisters Tina Snyder, June Ann and Billy Mackin, Delores and Ralph Weston, in-laws Fred Manzo and his wife, Kathy, Robert Manzo and his wife, Karol, Paul Manzo, Carmen Doe and her husband, John H, Ozzie Porter, Margaret Manzo, Joyce Baron, Richard Lowell, Darlene Manzo, numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mary Elaine was predeceased by her husband Angelo, brothers Frederick, Raymond, and Arthur Michuad, Donald Baker; sisters Leona Michuad, Dorothy Ambrose, and Alma Sylvestri. The family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Katahdin Health Care for the loving care given to our mother while she resided there for the past 4 years. Mom thrived on their attention and kindness. We are also grateful for the wonderful people who help care for Mom at home and enabled her to stay there as long as possible. Friends may visit with the family 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. Memorial services will start at 1 p.m. Spring interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Mary Elaine may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O.
