Marvin J. Renkema, 83, of Decatur died at his residence on Friday, November 14, 2014. Marvin was born in Holland, Michigan on August 31, 1931 to the late Minard and Minnie (Deloff) Renkema. He married Helen L. O’Dell on June 21, 1986. She survives in Decatur. Marvin attended the New Hope Church. He was a truck driver for 50 years and owner of MJR Express. He served his country in the US Army from 1950-1952. He was a member of the American Legion Post 43. He is survived by a son; seven daughters; a sister; two step sons; five step daughters; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters. Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at New Hope Church, with Memorial visitation 2 hours prior from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Pastor Kevin August will be officiating. Memorials are to New Hope Church.
