Charles Allen Gunnell Sr, age 87, left this earth on Tuesday November 11, 2014 at the Rehab and Health Center of Gahanna. Member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was a veteran and was discharged from the military in July of 1947 where he earned the WWII Victory Metal and the Good Conduct Metal. He married Annabelle Burnley in December 1949 who was the love of his life. They raised 4 children. They remained devoted together until the passing of Annabelle in March 2006. Charles and Annabelle became friends with many people and held many gala events at their home which were always well attended. They were truly a blessed couple who displayed Love and taught us their children the true meaning of unconditional Love. Charles was a dedicated and diligent provider for his family and although he worked many different jobs, he found his calling working with young people in the State’s juvenile detention center at TICO where he earned several accommodations for his services and guidance to the youth of the State of Ohio. Tico later became Franklin County Children’s Services. He retired from Franklin County in 1992. Predeceased by parents, William A. and Ina B. Gunnell; his beautiful wife, Annabelle B. Gunnell; son, Jeffrey Gunnell; sisters, Florene James and Barbara Jean Lewis; brothers, William A. II and Ronald Gunnell, Sr. Survived by sons, Steven Gunnell and Charles A. (Theresa) Gunnell, Jr.; daughter, Helene Gunnell; sister-in law, Sallye Windbush, devoted caregivers, granddaughter, Danita and great grand, Jazmin Gunnell; six other grandchildren, one other great grand, one great, great granddaughter and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
